 I also notice watching video with vdpau consumes abnormally high cpu usage. For the same video, in Natty the cpu usage using mplayer2 with vdpau (Nvidia295.20) is somewhere between 5 to 15%, in Precise it is around 50% even though vdpau is enabled (I know it is enabled aside from terminal output because it works in gnome shell, see below)

But I am not sure if this is just a Nvidia driver bug because cpu usage drops drastically when I switched to gnome-shell (even though still a few percentage over Natty with Nvidia295.20) I will file a separate bug if necessary.
