Do these icc profiles have "icc" or "icm" as extension? (I'm trying to figure out what could be wrong because I haven't any problem loading profiles...)

The default profile is the one meant for values without profiles. So it's not included into the swatch book. By the way, can you add a custom profile in the preferences display?
