The touchpad indicator version 2.1.1-0extras18.04.0 disables the trackpoint instead of the touchpad on the Lenovo T480s with Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS.

Here is the device list:

user@host:~$ xinput --list

⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ ETPS/2 Elantech TrackPoint id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]

The kernel has been upgraded to a upstream kernel:

user@host:~$ uname -a
Linux combine 4.15.15-041515-generic #201803311331 SMP Sat Mar 31 17:34:21 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When started from the shell, it even disable both touchpad and trackpoint. here is the output from the shell:

johny@combine:~$ touchpad-indicator
