@hyperspaced - could you upload those files in a Zip? RAR is pretty much a non-free format. If you use Zip folks like me don't have to go around installing extra software to be able to open your archive.

Could you also upload the hcid.conf file which works? The one from 7.10 installation?

Also, I forgot to ask - does the BT keyboard work connected to normal PC/desktop installation of Intrepid? Maybe use a LiveCD if you can't install to the desktop you have access to.
