LiveCD doesn't work on my epia-m-10k board (when X starts my LCD turns off) so here's what I did to try to upgrade my two mythtv-frontend-machines:

1- installed a command line system (10.04 beta-2 daily build 08/04/10)
2- console was scrambled as described here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-openchrome/+bug/538893 so I blacklisted viafb with success
3- installed xserver-xorg-driver-openchrome, xinit, xorg, openbox and mythtv-frontend

at this point everything works: X starts and correcly detects my lcd resolution, mythtv works fine.
But when I connect my pal tv via S-Video cable, the LCD will turn off when X starts and tv-out won't work.

changing bios settings doesn't help
using several working xorg conf (taken from a working karmic frontend) doesn't solve the problem....
compiling latest unichrome driver (and trying it against different configurations) doesn't help too

I'm quite sad because lucid boots faster than karmic on epia M (from power on to mythfrontend in about 1 minute isn't that bad for theese ancient mobo) and I'd like to upgrade my backend (but before doing so I must be shure my two epia m frontend machines will be able to work.... otherwise my wife and son will kill me)
