I can confirm this bug. I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.1 in Fedora Core 4. If I already have Firefox running on display 0:0, then type 'firefox' in a terminal on display 0:1, I get the following error dialog message:

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."

This also occurs when I click a link from Thunderbird running on display 0:1 with Firefox running on display 0:0 (see bug 236647, comment 6).
