I think there is some conflict with AppArmor because set the AppArmor profile of the Firefox in complain mode Firefox works well, but set it in enforced mode it cannot write into 'owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}' folder. My total paragraph for 'owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}':

  owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}/ rw,
  owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}/** rw,
  owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}/**/*.{db,parentlock,sqlite}* k,
  owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}/plugins/** rm,
  owner @{HOME}/.{firefox,mozilla}/**/plugins/** rm,
  owner @{HOME}/.gnome2/firefox*-bin-* rw,

With the pre-51.0.1+build2-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 FF it worked fine.
