The "browser.download.saveLinkAsFilenameTimeout" hack didn't work for me. I'm still getting the bug. I can save images for an indeterminate amount of time and then it stops. When I started Firefox from a terminal I get
whenever I was able to save an image successfully. When it finally gave up the ghost and no longer allowed me to save at all, it added this to the terminal:
I'm on Lucid-amd64 fully-updated, Firefox 3.6.10~hg20100828r34553+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~umd1~lucid from the Ubuntu Mozilla Daily Builds PPA (also got same behavior with the firefox in the official repo), KDE 4.4.2, kmozillahelper 0.6-0ubuntu3.
