ok, heres how to reproduce it:

1. open gedit and type some jibberish
2. go to tools > Autocheck Spelling and select it, the jibberish should be underlined
3. go to file > print and choose a printer, "to a file" is fine
4. the word is still underlined on the printed document

I've attached a screenshot that shows the document, with Autocheck Spelling on, and the printed pdf below it.
