if the browser-java-applets starts a new window it will hava the java-netx icon, wich is a 16x16only, black and whits "NX"-Text symbol.
you can find it in the file '''/usr/share/icedtea-web/netx.jar''' > net > sourceforge > jnlp >resources > netx-icon.png
This is a very bad behavios because
1. its ugly
2. a user will not bring "nx" in some relationship with a javaapplet
3. its only 16x16
4. it should use the icon from /usr/share/applications/icedtea-netx-javaws.desktop
the solution is just simple:
delete the file netx-icon.png from '''/usr/share/icedtea-web/netx.jar''' > net > sourceforge > jnlp >resources. then it will use the icon wich is given in the /usr/share/applications/icedtea-netx-javaws.desktop file
forwarded from https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/bugs/ 863228, the suggestion is not to ship the low resolution icon, so that the default gnome file is used.
