Comment 3 for bug 1280880

I think we're probably talking about two separate issues here...

1. a crash when working with very large files: this is now fixed, as you said in comment #2
2. a request for a "safe mode" for recovering documents that caused a crash when rendered in Inkscape.

For the second point, there is already a request (bug #1280880) for a crash recovery feature. I'll add a note to that report about the possibility of switching Inkscape into a safe mode, and close this report.

Please feel free to reopen, or make a separate report if there are any issues that haven't been addressed
