inkscape crashed with SIGSEGV in strlen()

Binary package hint: inkscape

It simply comes up with a dialog telling me that there is an internal error in Inkscape. This is done by opening an ordinary Adobe Illustrator file. Using Karmic and it is Inkscpae 0.47pre.
