2012-05-16 17:07:31 Aiman Baharna description On Xubuntu 12.04, Compiz starts for the first time without any of the plugins enabled. This even includes all the General plugins such as Composite and OpenGL. Steps to reproduce: 1. Log in as a new user (no existing ccsm settings) 2. Install compiz: sudo apt-get install compiz compiz-gnome compizconfig-settings-manager 3. Start compiz: compiz --replace ccp 4. In CCSM: note that none of the plugins are active Notes: - the $DESKTOP_SESSION is "xubuntu" - there is no "xubuntu" entry in /etc/compizconfig/config One solution might be to add a xubuntu profile under /etc/compizconfig/config, with the backend set to ini. The profile should ideally be a sane set of plugins. Perhaps even using the "unity" profile would be a sensible default.
