I am having this issue too. I am using ubuntu 12.04.1 and have intel HD3000 and ati 5400 series i am having random black screens but surprisingly, i am not having with FGLRX. i download ubuntu 12.04.1 and i dont have that bug. It only happens after install the updates and restart.
