Just received my brand new Dell 9560 and I also cannot boot a Live Image of 17.10 from USB. If I jump out of the splash screen (Alt+F1) I see these kinds of error messages come across:

watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#2 stuck for 23s! ....
