Hey guys, how would one go ahead and get the patch into a current kernel? i'm willing to test it out and play with it for a while since i also have one of those lenovo ideapad lovechilds...

for now a wireless keyboard with integrated touchpad will do, but i'm really stoked to see this issue resolved. i got this from the mint forums, setting up pci=nocrs in grub default, but that doesn't fix the keyboard/trackpad issues instead it breaks the realtek wifi driver.

I've also noticed that indeed the F5/6 keys to change brightness work and the flight mode key.

Really stoked to see this bug being squashed =D

edit;

it's been a few hours, i've downloaded the patch file, and kernel 6.1.59. my pc is now building the patched kernel, after if it installs i will return with news, hopefully good news, this could provide a workaround until a better solution is found.

edit edit;
typing this on the laptop in question.
Touchpad and mouse are now working flawlessly with the patch appplied, i wonder when, or if it will ever be part of the upcoming kernels. Its not too hard to patch it in myself but it takes about 2 to 3 hours for my laptop to compile the kernel.

I consider myself a noob so anyone should be able to do it.

can i post a link to the kernel i patched? it's on my google drive. i'm not sure if i may post this link.

if you want the details, just ask me here, i will be checking every so often the upcoming few days.

happy patching :-p
