In addition to what I just wrote (and sorry for spamming you all): it seems we are onto something regarding this bug.
Can anyone confirm that the problem
a) Happens when you display attachments inline in TB and receive a mail with a large attachment, sent from Outlook;
b) Does NOT happen when you do not display attachments inline in TB and receive a mail with a large attachment, sent from Outlook?
If so, the actual cause of the problem has been correctly identified: TB sees a normal attachment as an inline one due to the faulty way in which the mail was constructed by the sender's mail program.
