I'm glad you agree, I was worried that the reaction would be that others thought it unimportant.

My vision of the perfect default behaviour would be that the indicator-appmenu continue to act as it does, connecting to whatever window is currently selected.

The panel's titlebar replacements (eg, window controls (close, minimize, maximize) and draggability should work only for the uppermost maximized window. As the unmaximized window, even if currently selected, has its own titlebar and does not need duplicate functions in the panel. If the panel is to replace the functions of maximized windows, it needs to only work for the window that is maximized and visible.

The appmenu should be separate from this, as there is no such duplication.
