Comment 44 for bug 951929

On 13.10 ... still present. Seems to mostly affect gnome-terminal; but maybe that's what I have running most(?) Tends to happen when I have two terminal sessions running. Close the newer one. The old one is still running (shows with filled triangle on launcher) but can't switch to it with alt-tab nor go to it by clicking icon in launcher. Right-click in launcher does not list it either. Restarting Unity restores it to the list.
