Bug can only be seen in Unity 3D. Unity 2D behaves differently: text in dash input field is cleared whenever you open Dash. Therefore the bug does not exist in Unity 2D. I think the behavior of Unity 3D is better (if it would work correctly). If the text is kept in the input field you can either re-use it (start the last program again) or overwrite it with something else.
