Comment 6 for bug 539505

I am also effected by this bug. Although John's advice doesn't work for me; each time I start Ubuntu One Preferences it overwrites my amendments with "read_limit = 0" and "write_limit = 0". I've even gone so far as to remove all write privileges for syncdaemon.conf, however the client appears to restore the original permissions and overwrite my amendments.

Any idea when Collins patch will make it into Lucid Lynx? Also, how does one go about applying a patch? Does it require (re)building from source? Apologies, I am something of a nubey to the world of linux.
