why not simply try to recruit more developers using the sourceforge facilities?
I mean, any registered SF.net project can post openings for volunteers, providing details about the project, the development area and required expertise and people can come and check out the project and its TODO list/ROADMAP so that they can see if they'd like to get involved or not

Just go to http://sourceforge.net/people/ and post openings for developers
